Art By Malo is an art and jewellery design brand founded in Sweden by Marie Alexandersson. 

 

Art by Malo offers silver jewellery, gemstone jewellery, abstract acrylic paintings and more to come with a unique contemporary design. All products are personally crafted, made by hand and inspired by travels around the world and nature around Skåne, Sweden where the Art by Malo brand operates. 

 

Marie Alexandersson has a background in fashion and interior textile design with an education from ‘Tillskärareakademin’ in Copenhagen. She has worked with upholstery and furniture textile and she has held sewing couture classes. In 2001 she founded ‘Formbarating’ with a focus on textile and interior couture.

 

With a strong knowledge for design and handcraft, with a curiosity to develop her creative skills, she started in 2005 as a student for a silversmith in “Kullabygden” located in the peaceful northern part of Helsingborg. She has since then built up her own workshop space as well as designing and making her own silver jewellery.

 

Today the business goes under the name “Art By Malo” focusing mostly on silver jewellery, gemstone jewellery, and paintings with a vision to expand further offerings within art and design.

 

“I'm a creative soul and have always had an interest in creating with my hands. I like to work and experiment with different kinds of material. Silver is a fascinating and exciting material to work with because every piece is a unique handcraft and there is so much beauty within. The inspiration to all my handcraft comes from the ocean, nature and from exploring the world through travel. There is always something new and exciting that I bring back. Everything from fine shells, stones, pearls, or anything that inspires me to creativity.”
